Part Two For Search Engine Optimization Links

In the previous article on this topic, I covered the main types of links you want to get for your site. On the last part, I will clearly state which types of links to stay away from pursuing, and I will further explain some misconceptions about the good types of links.

Do not do this to your links.
(1) Placing a form on your site and then allowing anyone to add a link to your site using an automated process. If you do not manually approve these links, well, you are asking for “link problems”. Manually approve these links before posting them. What works, takes work…

(2) Denying a link based solely on a low or non existing PageRank. What a mistake! PageRank is not only outdated, it is also less relevant that it was in the past. As long as it is related to your site, what really matters here, is that the site your are reviewing is indexed or not. That is the key issue, not its popularity. This also applies outside the regular sites circle, to niche directories, smaller engines, etc.

(3) Sites that exchange links with you, but at a later time they do a “nofollow” on your link, or they just simply take it down. That is why you need to check your backlinks periodically to verify the status of these links exchanges.

(4) Sites with faked PageRank. Yes, they are all over. The problem is that you are doing an exchange link or buying a link from a site that doesn’t have the PageRank they claim to (offending domains use a 301 or 302 redirects that point their sites to sites with a high PageRank) and instead getting your genuine PageRank added to them as a trade, or your money.

Considering link exchanges.
This one is not easy, (see above) but also a good way if done right. How? Well, to start look for sites with lots of quality content that is directly related to yours. In this area, articles that are good introductions to your products or services create an opportunity. Focused on your visitors, look for resource pages that would increase their experience. Look for forums that allow actual links to be passed, as there are lots of then available, especially from authority sites, educational and governmental entities. And last, but not least, look for “information paths”, in other words, pages that lead visitors to additional information on a product or service.

Article swapping for links.
This one is very good. When you swap articles with a related site in your industry (for the most benefit) plus you add your own comments (preferably in a different color, hint: blue) to the article you are posting on you site (to avoid duplicate content among other things) this allows you to have additional content on your site, plus the immediate benefit of a properly implemented reciprocal link.

Tips on Getting Top Ranks in Google

Getting top ranks on Google can only be achieved by following all of the principals and guidelines contained in Google’s Webmaster Guidelines.  This constantly updated publication available for free from Google provides any serious website marketer with all of the basic dos and don’ts for optimizing your web site for ranking highly for your targeted keywords.

Before listing some specific tips, let’s first consider some of the basic truths about SEO (Search Engine Optimization).

It is expensive – you cannot expect to rank highly for competitive keywords without understanding that you will not likely be able to do this yourself. SEO involves many disciplines and processes that no single individual is likely to master and manage with any degree of expertise or efficiency.  It is necessary to carefully investigate and interview top SEO Companies who can demonstrate results both for their own website and for the websites for existing / renewing clients. Even if you decide to do SEO in-house, it will still be expensive.
It takes time – SEO requires patience.  The websites that appear on page 1 are not there by accident.  They have been doing the right things.  You have to do the right things and you will need to do them for the rest of your days on the internet to achieve top rankings and stay there.  The competition is huge for keywords / phrases that are in demand (high search volume).

So what are the right things?

Keyword Research
This is the cornerstone of any internet marketing strategy.  Text is the source of virtually all searches of course so the keywords / phrases that are actually entered by real people need to be studied and understood.  You cannot afford to make a mistake here because it will only negatively affect your SEO efforts.  You need to know what your target audience is typing … and I assure you that you don’t know them all.

Onsite Optimization
As the name implies this involves all of the on-page elements that a search engine crawler is interested in.  It is important that the information be presented to the crawler the way the search engines want it.  This involves:

a)    Unique, highly relevant, keyword rich Page Titles and Descriptions

b)    Properly implemented Page Titles and Meta Information.

c)    W3 Validation

d)    Use of Alt Tags for image descriptions

e)    Dynamic sitemaps

f)     Constant additions of new content (articles, press releases, videos, podcasts, etc)

g)    Inter-linking of content within the site

h)    Dozens of more elements.

Offsite Optimization
This is ultimately the most important element of SEO because this always involves the promotion of your content towards the generation of highly relevant, naturally occurring Backlinks.  Backlinks are one way links originating from someone’s website pointing directly to specific content on your website.  Backlinks are the most important factor Google uses to differentiate and ultimately rank based upon relevance.  The basic reasoning is this … backlinks represent a vote by someone else in favor of your website.  If the backlinks originate from sites with strong Google PageRank or strength, the greater the quality of the Backlink.  So, quality AND quantity are important towards generating backlinks.

So how do you get high quality and quantities of Backlinks?  CONTENT.

Articles

Write them!  Write great articles with great quality.  Write meaningful, informative, non-duplicate articles.  Matt Cutts of Google calls articles and other effective content as “link bait.”  I prefer to explain articles as demonstrations of your expertise and rising authority in the subject matter.  It is the quality of the content that ultimately will determine the maximum number of websites that link to your pages.

Press Releases

Your website and your business must not and cannot be a static system.  There are developments, announcements … NEWS!  Write Press Releases in journalistic style with quotes from key personnel with your business.  Get them published through syndication services such as PRWeb for wide distribution.  The indexing and the traffic generated all work together for Backlink generation.

Blogging

Create a blog and post daily.  It doesn’t have to be great literature.  Share a thought, a reaction, and an experience that is somehow relevant.  I can, even should be a bit edgy.  As with all content, it needs to contain interesting, current or trending topics.  Invite and promote comments.  All of this activity generates and promotes Backlinks as other sites will want to link to you and feed from you to enhance the content for their visitors.

Audio

Your articles, press release and blogs can be discussed or even read aloud as recorded podcasts.  This is valid and valuable.  Not everyone likes to read.  Some people are better listeners than readers.

Video

Same idea here; many folks are visual so use this medium to provide the visual news and concepts that are relevant.

Indexing

Articles, Podcasts, Blogposts, Audio, Video, Multimedia;  ALL content must be properly indexed on your site with an updated sitemap that is sent, preferably automated to all of the search engines so that the web pages get the appropriate credit.  Also, you need to index so that the websites that eventually will link to you will have highly relevant material on your site to actually link to … remember, Google rankings are only about one thing … RELEVANCE.

Syndication

All the indexing of new content on your site really only builds the foundation for great backlinking.  All of your content needs to be syndicated by offering them to relevant websites to really get your backlinking strategy into high gear.  Just as Google indexes your site, so too other websites are indexed including those that will publish your content through your syndication efforts.

All content needs to be “optimized” by including anchor text that targets the one or two keywords that are featured in your content.  You need to target just one or two keywords to give the article or other content type the focus needed for targeting important keywords.  In other words, the more keywords in your anchor text the less effective it will be for all of those keywords because the content is, in effect, diluted.

Targets for syndication really are based on the type of content.  Online publishers like ezinearticles.com are obviously good for articles.  As mentioned earlier, PRWeb is excellent for Press Releases (Syndication Fees apply).  Audio and Video can be syndicated through familiar sites like ITunes, YouTube, MySpace and many others.

The Social Media including Facebook and Twitter (many dozens more) are great places to syndicate your content through Tweets, posts, RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feeds.  There are countless tools and instruction on how to do these things … just Google it!

Social Bookmarking sites such as Digg, StumbleUpon and Delicious serve as great human voting platforms for those online communities.  Give your readers of your articles, blogposts etc the further option of adding your great content by adding them to their favorite social bookmarking site.

Social Media and Social Bookmarking sites are great human voting machines and Google is watching this activity very closely.  All of these interactions involving your content generate backlinks and remember backlinks are votes for your website.

Get started by writing and recording content.  Don’t stop.  You will never have too much content.  Make it relevant, make it interesting and unique.  Syndication is meaningless unless you have a complete and never-ending commitment to content.  Don’t have the time?  Can’t write?  Need help?  We are here; just contact us. SubmitEaze Review Discount

SubmitEaze is one of the best directory submitters on the market today (maybe the best one) that will help you to submit your website to over 1000 article directories. Below, you can find pros and cons SubmitEaze as a result of my research about directory submitters and differences between them.

First, let’s start with pros of SubmitEaze directory submitter software.

Frequent Update: SubmitEaze gets updated at least once in 2 weeks. While using this software, you will not see any “dead” directories. And also, information about the directories is very accurate, including pagerank of the directories and other given details. The author of SubmitEaze removes dead directories and adds new directories to the list frequently. I tried other directory submitters before; the number of dead directories in their list is really high and as you be able to submit your website to 2 out of 20 directories you feel frustrated. But with SubmitEaze, since the software gets updated frequently you won’t find any dead directories.

Number of Directories: Number of the directories in SubmitEaze is over 1000. This is really great number, and with the help of SubmitEaze submission process becomes very fast.

Variation of The Anchor Text: As you may know, when you link to a website using only 1 keyword, then your links will be considered as spam links, and your efforts will be considered as search engine spamming – Remember, search engines don’t like search engine optimization, they want “Natural” links.

Demo and Tutorials Available for Free: You can now download SubmitEaze trial version and see the demonstration videos for FREE, for downloading the trial version you will be asked for your name and email. For more information, I recommend you to check the link below:

Semi-Automatic: With automatic tools, you can’t submit to more than 100 directories – directory owners will prevent this from happening ASAP. The name Semi-Automatic submission may sound like slow process but it is not. SubmitEaze is a great time saver and every directory will not take more than 20 seconds to submit. Also, this way you seethe submission yourself. You can read testimonials and comments about SubmitEaze from forum users (DP and WF forums) by clicking the link below.

Categorized Directories: Some directories are paid, some require reciprocal links, and some accept websites only from certain niches, etc. all of those directories are categorized in SubmitEaze. Currently, there are about 15 types of niche directories in SubmitEaze.

Cons:

Semi-Automatic: For some people it is pro, for some it is con. Personally, for me semi-automatic submission is PRO, because you see the process for every single website with your own eyes, but there are so many people that want it to be 100% automatic. Well, I have tried a lot of automatic tools, unfortunately I got error for at least 35% of the websites… if you were the owner of a website directory, I am sure you wouldn’t want your website get spammed by automatic tools and you would do anything to prevent marketers that doesn’t put value on a link from your directory to spam your website!

Pagerank of Sub-Categories: While the pagerank of the main website directory page may be 6 or 8 (out of 10), pagerank of sub categories aren’t that high, if the pagerank of the homepage is 4, then the pagerank of the sub category will be 2 or 3, or maybe 1. This way, you backlink will be from PR2 or PR3 page not PR4 page.

Search Engine Ranking Software – Do You Need To Do All Of This?

If you are an internet marketer online to establish money, you are clearly aware of the importance of making sure your website ranks very well in the Serps in order for it to generate income. You almost certainly already know that a multi-dimensional back linking profile is also integral to your achieving success on the internet, as the key search engines like Google have several parameters for indexing the results for an organic or natural search, resulting in the traffic flood that you have heard about but have not seen, and this is going to be your favorite form of traffic – considering that it’s free! Being a webmaster, you probably have a marketing strategy that includes links from diverse IP’s, and from different sources. This is a small list of various sources of links you need to consider:

* Context links

* Video submission site links

* Diverse C-class IP links

* Social tagging

You will find other channels of links as well: profile links (that are spammed on a daily basis and regularly shut down), .edu and .gov links, other authority site links, and the list goes on.

As you can see, there are only so many hours in a day, and there are only so many ways to generate these sorts of links. Anyone online is trying for one thing: and that is a passive or residual income, so the mediocrity of having to spend many hours figuring out a strategy to muscle your way into a very high PageRank .edu or .gov siteas a way to get a measly link is…actually, it’s worth it when you can do so! However, most don’t want to sit in front of their monitor hours a day trying to find ways to create enough links in order to rank your site or build authority.

The trouble with the authority links from high-ranking education blogs or government sites is that they are more challenging to find. There has to be a better way, right?

To rush the ranking process, many hire a professional company or freelancer to do these tasks, and there are plenty of choices on the table in this global economy. There are a number of outsourcing hubs, for instance, where you can hire out for a backlink-building team or individual, but the challenge is following up and being organized, to be sure that the links are in place. One question to ask the service provider is how the links will get indexed? Can you find the links in Yahoo! Site Explorer or another means? Many times, these obscure links are not indexed nor are they tracable, so you spend money and spin your wheels looking for other services…

And keep in mind: if you can’t find the links pointing to your site (backlinks), then neither can the search engines. If your backlinks are not indexed, you’re wasting time.

Many providers of backlinks will charge you a decent amount of money for link packets, so many links for so much money – and they work in most cases. The issue here is that the expense is on-going. There are automated services that you can subscribe to, but many are forced continuity programs: if you stop the service, you lose your links and your sites drop off their new-found place. Furthermore, add it up! How much ongoing expense do you want in your business in the course of a year? These are real issues. To save money and remain in control, you should generate your own backlinks.

Besides getting into a very high-priced backlinking and outsourcing project, what are your options, exactly? You need the links, but you don’t want to spend all of that money. What do you do? Article marketing is an “old” strategy that still works, and is often free to do. You can use mass distribution services for a small monthly fee that will post your articles for you en masse, and these usually work out fine.

On typical article marketing, you will notice that there is a resource box at the end of your article, in this you normally get two backlinks to your site. The trick is to write well enough that others will re-publish your article, and thus distribute your links onto different C-class IPs.

Important Note On Link Diversification

Though articles often wind up on diverse C-class IPs, and since most of the distribution services create new articles with every submission (thus escaping the duplicate content “penalty” so to speak), you are still only working with one supply of backlinks: articles. The fear is that you might be missing a lot of traffic, and this traffic may be buying traffic for your site. By pulling traffic from many sources, from diverse backlinks, is a smart way to see the most advantage to your business.

The best solution would be software that would answer your link-building strategy. It would have to be able to handle several streames of backlinks. It would have to be programmable, so you could grow it as you needed, otherwise you could end up the proud owner of digital trash that sits in your registry doing nothing but providing your defragmentor something to defragment…the trouble with software is usually that having a video submitter, for instance, would be great when it’s first released. It would likely be able to submit to the best sites, and it would actually work for you. Over time, your video submission tool becomes useless as it submits to dead sites, or the computer software is comprimised because it can’t keep up with the ever-innovating malware you just downloaded.

This is only an analogy, but it holds true across the board. For example, you have RSS aggregator sites, for which you need an RSS submitter. Then there are blog networks that you can create and manage, but you need a web 2. tool to do that. Finally, you can also get comments on blogs in your niche, and social bookmarks as well. These are all other avenues of backlinks, and other avenues in which your software can easily become useless if it cannot be updated.

The best software should allow you to scale it up as time went on. The best software would combine several submission services so you could take the same material (say, an article) and then syndicate it through various channels. Putting your own backlinking efforts into your hands (vs. a VA or freelancer living in another country or hemisphere as the case may be) is the only way to go, to be sure your content is just right, so that if you do your own backlinking, you can make sure it is all done according to your quality standards.

One other issue that is not typically noted but deserves thought: is the program easy to use? You have a a lot of things you need to take of already, you really should not have to be worried about getting banned from Digg or other places due to a complex learning curve! Make sure to shop for software that is user-friendly and ready to go.

Last but not least, you should look for software that is usable from the word, “Go!” It needs to be adaptable to your needs, but also needs to be packed with the “good stuff” like high-PR directories to submit articles to, and so on. It is OK to ask if there are any high PR websites in the package? Are the article directories worth getting excited over? The backlinks on a less popular site will still “count,” even if the site has no PR, but when a domain is spidered routinely, and when it seems like a popular site (like Facebook), then your content is more likely to be found.

Do you have software that would measure up to these demands? If you care to learn about a system that satisfies or exceeds all of the above, come read about a software for backlinking that you may be very interested in.

Internet Marketing Optimization Factors

For any Internet-based business, it is not enough to have established an online portal to your business. Since your website holds all the information about the products and services you are offering in the online market, you need to get people to visit your site.

So how can you set your business up to achieve this? The most widely used method is through Internet Marketing Optimization. This term is interchangeably used with Search Engine Optimization or SEO. Like any process, your success depends on how well you adapt or work with existing factors and conditions that directly or indirectly affect the process. To put this in simple terms, your success in marketing your merchandise online depends on how well you incorporate certain factors involved in SEO.

Getting ahead in the race to getting the highest page ranks has become more difficult as more businesses join the trend of employing dynamic SEO techniques. However, in all of these campaigns, there is a set of internet optimization factors that must be considered.

Keyword Research

Keywords are the words and phrases used by searchers to find what they are looking for.  Google has achieved market dominance through its ability to provide the most relevant search results.  So, keyword research to identify your “universe” of relevant, targeted words and phrases is a critical element; in fact, keyword research is the cornerstone of all Internet Marketing and Search Engine Optimization. In addition, because trends change all of the time, keyword research is a necessary continual process, particularly to identify and target niche terms and markets.

Onsite Search Engine Optimization

As the name implies this involves all of the on-page elements that a search engine crawler is interested in.  It is important that the information be presented to the crawler the way the search engines want it.  This involves:

a)    Unique, highly relevant, keyword rich Page Titles and Descriptions

b)    Properly implemented Page Titles and Meta Information.

c)    W3 Validation

d)    Use of Alt Tags for image descriptions

e)    Dynamic sitemaps

f)     Constant addition of new content (articles, press releases, videos, podcasts, etc)

g)    Inter-linking of content within the site

h)    Dozens of more elements.

Content

Content is probably the least emphasized, yet the single most important component necessary to successfully compete for high search engine rankings.  I suspect this is the case because it requires the most commitment, the hardest to do consistently and over a long period of time and it requires the SEM (Search Engine Marketing) to “level” with the potential client about the plain truth about SEM; no matter how much or little you are paying your Internet Marketing Company, it will be completely wasted if you don’t have a strong commitment to regular additions of unique (non-duplicate), highly relevant content.  If the company you are interviewing do not stress this, or even mention it, head for the hills!

The web is essentially a text-based environment. People primarily go online to find information. For a website to attract more visitors and potential clients, it must therefore provide timely, up to date, and relevant information that people can use. Once your website has established a certain level of trust in the eyes of a lot of users, your business will benefit not only from the increased traffic and sales generated, you will also have established a solid and loyal customer base as well. Content does not always have to be too formal or technical either. Constant updates can serve you well in terms of informing visitors of new trends or products you plan to offer. This way, people will have something to look forward to that gets them to keep on coming back to your website.

Offsite Optimization

This is ultimately the most important element of SEO because this always involves the promotion of your content towards the generation of highly relevant, naturally occurring Backlinks.  Backlinks are one-way links originating from someone’s website pointing directly to specific content on your website.
